Home Authority Principle (HAP) Activity
The authority endorses and supports the Home Authority Principle as advocated by LACORS. The Food Team gives advice to companies and other food authorities on either a 'Home Authority' or 'Originating Authority' basis.

Inspecting and Sampling Food
The Food Team undertakes microbiological food sampling activities in accordance with the Warwickshire Food Sampling policy and county-wide Annual Sampling Programme.

Inspecting Food Premises
The Food Team inspects food premises in the borough to ensure that food law requirements are being met. This includes licensing and approval activities, where appropriate.

Promoting Food Hygiene & Food Safety Awareness
As it has been estimated that many food poisoning outbreaks arise as a result of poor food handling in the home, the Team attaches importance to promoting food hygiene for all residents of the borough.
