Food Consumers

The Council's Food Safety Team deliver a range of services that seek to protect consumer health. These range from food-related inspections and investigations to promotional activities to raise awareness of food safety and healthy eating, please use the links on the right for advice and information.

Officers will always respond to complaints or requests for information or advice. Complaints relating to food bought in the borough, or to premises trading in the borough, will be investigated by officers in accordance with the Council's policies and procedures. Complaints that are made by local residents but which relate to premises that are outside the Council's area will be forwarded to the appropriate council on your behalf. Requests for information or advice will be dealt with promptly, making use of the extensive stock of leaflets and other publications maintained in the Food Matters library.

In order to facilitate the widest possible access to the food safety and healthy eating information that it holds the Food Safety Team will strive to put as much food-related information on this website as it can.

If you have specific concerns about a food premises, or food that you have purchased in the Borough then report the food hygiene issue online.
